Louis Law
MA, Registered Psychotherapist
Louis received his Bachelors of Science in Biology and Psychology at Queen’s University and his Masters of Counseling and Psychotherapy at Yorkville University. He is currently completing his Doctorate of Counseling and Psychotherapy to further deepen his expertise in evidence-based approaches to mental health care.
Louis has extensive clinical training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT Core Skills 1–4), and has worked in high-acuity mental health settings, including CAMH, where he gained hands-on experience supporting clients with complex emotional and behavioral needs. He also completed an internship at Grace Health Centre under Dr. Tat-Ying Wong, receiving mentorship in integrative psychotherapy approaches and culturally-informed care.
This combination of rigorous academic training and applied clinical experience allows Louis to provide compassionate, tailored therapy, integrating DBT, EFT, and other evidence-based approaches to support clients in managing anxiety, trauma, ADHD, burnout, and relational challenges.
Education & Experience
Many of the clients Louis works with feel caught between cultures and expectations, striving to meet others' standards while gradually losing touch with themselves. They may experience anxiety, burnout, or find themselves repeating long-standing family patterns. Together, they work toward feeling more grounded, understood, and confident in setting healthy boundaries, creating a life that feels authentic and aligned with their values.
Louis helps clients navigate cultural pressures, family dynamics, identity concerns, anxiety, burnout, and self-criticism. He also has extensive experience supporting neurodiverse individuals, offering individualized strategies and practical tools. Drawing from CBT, DBT, and EFT, he provides a collaborative and compassionate space to process emotions, understand recurring patterns, and build a more balanced, meaningful, and fulfilling life.
He understands that feeling misunderstood, overwhelmed, or stretched too thin can be exhausting. His approach emphasizes creating a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore these experiences, strengthen self-understanding, develop practical coping skills, and move toward lasting change with greater confidence and self-compassion.
